Christmas Mystery Block of the Month

I have been looking to do a block of the month for a while. A block of the month is where you get enough fabric to make one block each month and then at the end of 12 months you have 12 blocks that you can make a whole quilt. I haven’t found one that struck me in a while, but I happened to stumble upon a mystery block of the month from the Fat Quarter Shop.

I have one Christmas quilt right now and I would love to have another, so I thought this was a good way to get one and do a block of the month. Since it is a mystery, I do not know what the final quilt will look like. I have finished just one block so far and am currently working on the second. Here is a picture of the first block.

  1. Rachel, I signed up for the FQS Mystery BOM just this morning!! I thought the first block was cute, but didn’t expect the second one to be as cute. Well the second one was adorable but I figured, how could the 3rd one be better than the first two…when I saw the third one, I signed up. It was the mystery part of this BOM that made me hesitate in the beginning, being the control freak that I am. I sure have high expectations for the remaining blocks!!

Hey, you left a comment on my blog about Google Reader, and that I have 200 some Followers on Google Reader! What is Google Reader and how did you figure this out? I need to have a giveaway for my Google Reader readers!! I’m in shock!! WOW, thanks so much for clueing me in! How embarrassing to go on about my 46 Blogspot Followers when I have over 200 someplace else!!

    1. I know what you mean about the blocks so far, I said the same thing!! How can they be any cuter?? I have finished all three so far (am going to post about the other two soon), and they are all so adorable. I am excited to see what else they have.

If you go to reader.google.com you will see what google reader is, it’s basically once place where you can put in all the blogs you like and the reader will feed them all to you so you don’t have to hop around to a bunch of sites to see the latest posts. I probably follow about 250 blogs using this, something I could never do if I had to go to each one. I didn’t see a way to get names for your followers, I think Google likes keeping secrets like that. Hehe ….

      Cheers!
      Rachel
