Today my giveaway includes two items, the first is a pattern that can also be found in my online store (here). It is called “Slideshow” by Atkinson Designs.
I haven’t actually tried this particular pattern myself, but if the “Yellow Brick Road” pattern is any indication, her patterns are excellent! Her directions are clear, concise, and very easy to follow. This should be an enjoyable pattern to make.
The second item included in my giveaway is this fat quarter bundle from my own personal fabric stash.
This bundle is made up of 11 fat quarters from Denyse Schmidt’s new line of fabrics, “Picnic and Fairgrounds”. One lucky winner will get both the pattern and the fat quarter bundle. These fabrics are simply divine and I think this will be a great pattern to show them off.

I think my most treasured tool is my rotary cutter, too. And my most wanted is a long (at least 12,5″) proper quilting ruler (I’m using a thin metal one like the those children use at school, but at least it’s non-slippery)

I would love a die cutter – one that cuts fabric. I have a rotary cutter but it rusts easily. Singapore is too humid to support a rotary blade.

The tool(s) I most want for quilting right now is more than out plastic-measuring-ruler-y thing. I’m such a newbie I don’t know what the right name is. Anyway, I have one that is 18.5″ by 6.5″ and it does a lot but I think it’d be nice to have a selection.
I love my sewing machine Naumann which originally belonged to my great-grandmother – sometimes, I admit, I long for zig zag stitches and other fancy things, but then I see my machine again and forget about it all.

It has to be my walking foot. I LOVE it. I don’t even quilt (yet) but it’s great for other things too. I’d so love to make a quilt but I’ve yet to commit to a pattern or fabrics for one – I think this could be the one! Fingers crossed for me.
Awesome giveaway! My fav tool would have to be my square ruler, at 4.5 inches. I use it ALL the time to square up blocks before sewing them into a top!

My favorite sewing tool … this is kind of silly. When I was 15 or so, “hair sticks” were really popular, fancy sticks to hold your bun in place. I sanded, stained, and oiled some regular eating chopsticks until they were just beautiful and gleaming (and not oily). Well the fad passed but now I have a beautiful poking/turning tool with some history!
Like many quilters, my #1 used quilting tool is my rotary cutter. On my wish list would be a rotating self-healing mat. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

My tool of choice is a white hard plastic thing with a narrow, almost sharp, edge that “draws” lines on my fabric that I can then use to line up overlapping fabric or sew a seam. Since I can’t sew straight for the life of me, this little thing is very useful. No idea what you call it though, I got it as a gift.

Favorite non-fabric tool… The rotary cutter is crucial, but I’m also all about making my own seam binding right now — so I guess that handy little metal guy that keeps the fabric in line. 🙂

well my most used tool is definitely my seam ripper!
I am coveting a few non-fabric quilting tools right now. Rulers in different shapes and sizes are at the top of the list, right alongside a new cutting mat.
I’m a beginner quilter so please forgive me for not knowing what a non-fabric quilting tool is!? Is that a tool that isn’t made out of fabric? I’m so confused.
I’m just going to follow in EM’s footsteps though s/he would like a template for cutting triangles, I would like those plastic thingies that help make hexes!
My scissors. I have several pair of 4″ that are all around my sewing room and 1 small pair that never leaves the side of my sewing machine. I love DS fabrics… however I have this clover dolphin that allows me to carry my scissors and needles with out them poking through. I love it and use it all the time in my busy box that I carry to dr appt or kids events!

A non-fabric quilting tool that I would love to have would be one of those cutting mat turntables. I don’t like to pick up my fabric to cut opposite sides, but sometimes it has to be done as I don’t have lots of space on my cutting surface. That’s something I need to put on my Christmas/b’day list for sure!

i LOVE my clover seam ripper. probably an unhealthy amount. i LOVE it. i think EVERYONE should have one! i honestly used to go through 2-3 cheap seam rippers a week when i was doing a lot of denim reconstruction. in the past 10 years, i’ve had two seam rippers. the first one lasted 2 or 3 years until my idiot roommate did something to it (no idea how she managed to break it!), and i’ve had my current one for more than 7 years now. they’re indestructible!

I would have to say that my most treasured sewing notion lately has been my seam ripper. With two little kids, I tend to sew late in the evening and then, of corse, make lots of mistakes. So out comes my loyal seam ripper. Next up would be my quilting rulers. Love them!

I love my sewing machine. It is old and it was cheap, but man it’s a workhorse.
I love Terri Atkinson’s Yellow Brick Road pattern. This one looks like a nice one to make also. I love my quik clip when I am pinning my quilt layers together. It makes it a snap to close up the pins.

My favorite tool is my leopard-handled gingher embroidery scissors!
They will pull my Brother from my cold, dead fingers before I would give it up. She is my first electronic machine, I earned he money for her by sewing handbags on my mechanical Singer (and I stll love her like an auntie), and earned her keep turning out beautiful quilts and marvelous gifs for my friends and family.

Let me see, that would be my mother? She is a great encourager and motivator and has fantastic taste, and is falling in love with quilts too, has always sewn but until recently painting was her medium.( I’m a chip off the old block after all.) So I reckon it stand to reason to choose her!
